Angelonia sp

These are very similar to snapdragons from my childhood except that they are about 1/5th size in bloom.  I think they're adorable.

Now I know I have a picture of them somewhere.

Easy to grow, direct sow in a pot or ground, enjoy.

Gilia capitata

A delicate airy annual, great for pots and window baskets.  Covered in tiny mauve blooms with peacock blue anthers mid July into August.  Dead heading will produce more blooms especially if the weather holds into September.

I prefer to toss some seeds into a pot, water it in and let nature do her thing.  Couldn't be any easier than that.

Lavatera trimestris

Annual mallow, rose mallow, royal mallow and regal mallow, that's a few common names and I'm sure there are probably more.

Super easy to grow just about anywhere.  I've found it self seeds quite well, even here in zone 2.  Easy to pull if you don't want it, but why wouldn't you.  Blooms well into fall.

Linum grandiflorum - Scarlet Flax

This would probably perform better in a warmer climate (everything performs better in a warmer environment).  Native of Algeria so there it is.  I had better results sowing direct in the spring than early in a pot.  Worth the effort in my zone, the blooms are gorgeous.

Malva sylvestris mauritiana

Not hardy here at all so I am listing it as an annual, and it is sold here as such.  I think this should be a staple in the garden.  Blooms well into September and does tolerate our cool night temperatures.  Will self seed somewhat reliably in my zone 2.
