Kabocha squash is a dark green roundish squash. The flesh inside is a bright golden orange. Very tasty and makes a wonderful soup. The skin is edible, although if you make soup don't use the skin as it will change the colour of the soup. Learned that the hard way. I find the flesh to be a bit on the dryer side, which I like, especially for baking.

Cucurbita pepo subsp. pepo, also called Vegetable Spaghetti
Shaped more like a football, yellow skinned and yellow fleshed. Once cooked, the flesh resembles spaghetti. I prefer it with a bit of butter, salt & pepper. I do know many who put spaghetti sauce on it and enjoy in place of grain made spaghetti.
